5 Tips to Reduce Stress During Wedding Week

The week leading up to your wedding is such an exciting time, but can be stressful getting all the last minute details together. Here are 5 tips to help reduce your stress leading up to your wedding day.

  1. Drop necessary ceremony and reception items off early to your wedding venue.

Some wedding venues will allow you to drop off items early. For example; unity cross, unity candle, décor, or any specialty item you want to make sure is at the venue for your wedding day. You can talk to your venue to see when or if you can drop off items early. You can also ask if you can set up/decorate after your rehearsal the night before. If you are unable to drop off items ahead of time, collect everything you need for your wedding and either put items in the same location in your house, or put your items in your car. It will help relieve stress worrying if you have everything you need.

  2. Make final payments before they are due.

Some vendors have their contract set up where their final payment is due the day before your wedding or the day of (which is normal and totally fine), but if you have the option/ability to pay before the due date, I would suggest doing so. Perks - it will feel awesome having everything paid off, won’t have to worry about paying vendors on your wedding day, and it will be one less item on your to do list. If you don’t have the ability or option to pay early, have all your payments and tips in individual envelopes marked with each vendor’s name. That way you can designate someone to distribute all the final payments to the vendors, so you don’t have to worry. If you have a wedding planner/coordinator they will be the one responsible for distributing the final payments and tips day of for you.

  3. Talk with your wedding planner/coordinator to finalize your wedding timeline.

A wedding timeline takes A LOT of time and energy to create. One of the major benefits of hiring a wedding planner/coordinator is to let them handle the timeline and communication with vendors for you. It takes a lot of stress off of you. Even if you have a wedding planner/coordinator create a customized timeline for you, it is important to go over the details with your planner to make sure all the details are included and in the correct order. As a wedding planner/coordinator it is essential for me to talk to the couple a week before the wedding to make sure the timeline is correct, and go over any details for the wedding day. If you don’t have a wedding planner/coordinator, I would highly recommend hiring one, or start your timeline early so you don’t feel stressed leading up to your wedding.

  4. Make a checklist.

I am the queen of checklists! I make checklists daily to make sure I don’t forget anything, and it helps clear my mind. Checklists for your wedding are a must! It will help you stay organized and make sure you don’t forget anything. Being able to check off a task from your checklist will help you feel like you are one step closer to having everything done for your dream wedding.

  5. Get pampered, take care of yourself, and enjoy every moment.

Often times stress can sneak up and become overwhelming, especially when you are only a few days away from your wedding day. Take time to enjoy every second. Get a massage, a facial, manicure/pedicure with your girls, take a yoga class, go to the gym, enjoy time with your out of town guests, eat balanced meals, and get some sleep. All are amazing ways to reduce your stress and celebrate you getting married in a few days!!! Have fun and soak up every second. Enjoy the process leading up to marrying the love of your life.
